About Chakras
A chakra is a spinning portal into the body’s complex energy system. There are seven major chakras and each one acts as a focal point for reception and transmission of life force energies. The word, “Chakra” (pronounced “CHAWK-raw”) is an ancient Sanskrit word that means “wheel”. Each chakra has its own set of specific attributes and functions. As a group, chakras work together to vitalize the physical body and facilitate development of all aspects of the self: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Our chakras are constantly adjusting as they move through natural cycles, opening and closing to realign to ever-changing energy flows. Removing and/or preventing energy blockages will allow the chakra system to self-regulate and re-balance naturally as it responds to your individual needs.
How to Use
- Clear your mind of expectations and predictions.
- Place the chart on a flat surface in front of you, positioned with multi-color wedges in the top half and the yoga figure in the bottom half. If possible, sit up straight and put both feet flat on the floor.
- Decide on the question to ask. Example: “Which chakra needs extra help today?” or “Which chakra is contributing to my anxiety today?”
- Grasp the top bead or fob of your pendulum between your thumb and forefinger and arch your wrist slightly. Hold your pendulum so that it dangles about 1/2 inch above the hinge-point (the white dot at the center of the chart). Steady your elbow on the table, but not your hand that holds the pendulum. Let the pendulum dangle directly above the chart’s hinge-point.
-
Ask your question. Allow the pendulum as much time as it needs to get started. When it’s ready to answer, the pendulum’s motion will straighten into a steady swing that goes out and back, swinging between the hinge point and the chart’s outer edge. Your answer is the chakra that’s directly underneath the pendulum’s swing.
Note: During this process, if you aren’t sure when your pendulum is done, you can move off the chart and, with your pendulum programmed for yes/no answers, ask a clarifying question, such as “Is my Base chakra open?” or “Does my Solar Plexus chakra need clearing?”, etc.
Alternate Method – Using the Chart’s Chakra Symbols as Proxies
An alternate method to the one just described uses the chart’s printed chakra symbols as “proxies” or stand-ins, for your body’s chakras. Using this method may allow you to get more specific information about the energy state of each chakra.
Be prepared with a pencil and paper to write down what your pendulum says. Proceed the same way as described before; however in this method, ignore the chart’s hinge point. Instead, hold your pendulum directly over one of the chakra symbols. As you do, concentrate on the specific area on your own body that corresponds to that chakra. You refer to the yoga figure shown on the included booklet to help you visualize the position of the selected chakra. Then, ask your pendulum to show you the energy state of the selected chakra. Write down the pendulum’s direction and relative size of, or force behind its swing. To read the state of all seven chakras, repeat this process, one symbol at a time, noting the details of pendulum’s movement for each. Use the table below to interpret your results.
