Health and Safety Information Regarding COVID-19

Dear Friends,

The health and safety of AYP's customers is my highest priority. As the outbreak of the COVID-19/Coronavirus continues throughout the world, I want to share how Ask Your Pendulum/Knowing the Soul LLC is helping to maintain a safe environment.

As this is an evolving situation, I'm closely monitoring local and national reports regarding COVID-19 and making sure that we follow all current recommended precautions to prevent the spread of this virus.

Ask Your Pendulum and Knowing the Soul LLC is a home-based business. No persons, other than myself and my husband have entered our home since late February. We have isolated at home since mid-March (prior to the stay at home order that was issued in Washington State on March 25, 2020). Since that time, we've eliminated all non-essential outings.

We've also limited all face-to-face interactions with others (such as delivery drivers and mail carriers) to only that which is absolutely necessary. We handle all deliveries carefully. In the few instances where face-to-face interaction is necessary, we do so outdoors. We closely adhere to social distance guidelines, wear face coverings, and carefully follow recommended hygiene measures. We will continue to isolate at home and take all recommended precautionary measures until they are no longer necessary.

As the AYP website was on hiatus for the first few months of 2020, AYP inventory levels are still in good shape and I'm able to process orders promptly. Instead of driving to the post office each day to drop off packages, I am having them picked up (again, with no face-to-face contact), which may, in some cases, delay order shipment by one business day.

If you would like information regarding the Coronavirus Disease, here is a link to the CDC's website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html.

I understand that this situation is very serious and I am committed to keeping AYP customers safe and healthy by keeping ourselves and the AYP environment safe and healthy.

Stay well.

Joyful Blessings,

Help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by washing your hands.

Wash your hands with soap frequently, and for at least 20 seconds each time.

COVID-19 is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and is extremely susceptible to ordinary soap. This is because of the way that the virus holds itself together. SARS-CoV-2 is held together by a fatty membrane, which keeps the virus contained until its ready to spread inside the body. The membrane helps the virus spread by sticking to other fatty surfaces (like dead skin cells on your hands).

Water alone can only remove so much of the virus from your skin. Soap contains a fat-like substance, known as amphiphiles, which is extremely similar to the fatty layer that holds SARS-CoV-2 together. The soap acts like a wedge, forcing its amphiphiles into the virus, pulling it apart from the inside out and rendering the virus inactive. The surface of your skin has a network of groves, fissures, and wrinkles, so it takes some time to make sure the soap gets into all parts of your hands. The Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization both recommend that you lather your hands in soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds, reaching all parts of your hands.

The easiest way to do this is by singing a song in your head or out loud while soaping up your hands. Songs like Happy Birthday sung twice, the ABC song, or Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.
