  • This pendulum is part of the Spirit Animal Limited Edition series. Designed for vibrational harmony with energies of the Bear totem, this sterling silver and natural stone pendulum is handmade with loving intent by pendulum artist Eva Browning. Series is limited to 500 pendulums.

"The Bear" features a beautiful multi-sided tapered point weight-stone of deep green Bloodstone that suspends from a detachable sterling silver chain chalked full of energetic gemstone accents: Bloodstone, Peach Moonstone, Rainbow Obsidian, Baltic Amber, Pyrite, and Herkimer Diamond, each selected for their compatibility with Bear totem energy (click on "Details" tab for information about the Bear totem and artist's notes).

The fob (holding piece) employs a powerful motif for Bear energy - its paw print - cut out of a sturdy oval of sterling silver and polished on both sides. Slightly convex, it fits beautifully between thumb and forefinger. For measurements and other details, click the "Details" tab above.
  • As a spirit animal, the Bear is a powerful grounding force. Its energy is about confidence, strength, bravery, survival, and independence - as well as healing, both physical and emotional, and creativity, lucid dreaming, gentleness, balance, and playfulness. Bear energy helps you connect with your inner voice, set boundaries, slow down and take solitude when you need it.

Artist's notes: I choose Bloodstone for this pendulum design because its energetic qualities are astoundingly compatible with that of the Bear. Bloodstone is a grounding stone, a healing stone, and a stone of magic. It fosters independence, courage and intuition. These multi-sided points are lovely examples of top grade Bloodstone and I wanted something beautiful, bold and substantial for this powerful totem.  I choose Amber for it's beautiful energetic qualities, but also because it reminds me of honey, a treat that bears are notoriously drawn to and a metaphor for enjoying the sweetness of life. Peach Moonstone is a nod to the cyclic aspect of the Bear, along with her connection to intuition and the moon. I selected Rainbow Obsidian for its gentleness and protective qualities and Pyrite for its confidence, assertive inner warrior attributes. The Herkimer Diamond at the center of the chain is a powerful amplifier for spirit guide connection. And it promotes lucid dreaming - a strong quality of the Bear totem.

Measurements - Overall length of pendulum is 7 1/2". The chain length (including clasp) is 5 1/3". Weight-stone measures 1 1/8". All measurements are approximate.

The length of this pendulum is designed for optimal swing and wearability, however, if you prefer, you can order with a longer chain - up to 4 additional inches (see "Chain Length" option box). Additional length adds extra sterling links to the chain, but the number of beads is unchanged.

All metal parts (chain, clasp, fob, mountings, and connectors) are sterling silver. All stones are genuine. Please note: As these are natural stones, depth of color, size, and patterns in each stone may vary slightly.
  • How to wear this pendulum: This pendulum's chain has a clasp that allows you to detach the weight-stone so you can wear it as a pendant - simply by slipping it onto your own neck chain or satin cord. Or you can wear the whole pendulum by using a pendulum-to-pendant adapter, or simply by threading a neck chain or cord through one of the links in the pendulum's chain and letting both ends dangle. (Adapter and neck chain sold separately - see related items below.)

Sterling Silver - This pendulum is made with sterling silver and contains no base metal parts. Sterling silver is a beautiful and durable alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metal, usually copper. Pendulums made with sterling silver are more sensitive to subtle energy vibrations than those that are constructed with base metals (alloys that use nickle, zinc, lead, and/or tin).

Caring for your sterling silver - If worn or used much, sterling will eventually oxidize and develop a lovely patina - a nice warm glow accentuated by darkened (tarnished) areas. You can either leave it this way, or if you prefer a bright and shiny surface, gently polish with a treated cloth to remove the oxidation. Never use abrasive cleansers or expose to salts. Store in a cool dry place.
