  • This is a One-of-a-Kind pendulum design - meaning there is only one of this particular design. The weight-stone in this pendulum comprises three beautifully faceted, dark green Moldavites, that together (without the silver) weigh approximately 11 carats. They are permanently "stacked" with sterling silver mounts to form a single weight-stone. The detachable sterling silver chain is adorned with smaller stack of sterling clad Moldavites at the center (weighing approximately 2 1/2 carats) and flanked by sparkling, faceted Aqua Aura Quartz beads, spiraling sterling silver balls, and at each end, a stack of Moldavites sandwiching shimmering Welo Opals. These precious opals from Ethiopia are semi-translucent with a milky background and show off a delicate, though fiery interplay of colors with green, aqua, red, yellow, orange, peach, and sometimes blue and purple.

The fob (holding piece) is a sterling silver open-work four-petal flower that features a beautiful faceted Moldavite in its center, mounted in a four pronged setting and weighing approximately 1/4 carat.

Please note: A common characteristic of Moldavite is the presence of naturally occurring gas bubbles - tiny voids trapped inside the stone when it was formed millions of years ago. The Moldavites in this design contain a few of these natural air pockets, both inside the stone and at its polished surface. These surface imperfections vary, but may look like tiny divots or shallow furrows. These are not visible in the photos and hard to spot without the aid of a magnifying glass.
  • Moldavite is a tektite that was created approximately 15 million years ago when a giant meteorite fell to the earth. All the Moldavite on the planet comes from this one area and it's still being mined, though it's expected that there will be depleted within the next ten years. I've been using Moldavite in the AYP pendulums for some time, though very few are large enough to use in a weight-stone. Moldavite is quite rare and as you'd expect and it's also very expensive, so the larger pieces are hard to come by. When I get them, I save them up and to make these special Moldavite one-of-a-kind pendulums. If I'm lucky I can make 2 or 3 per year (depending on availability). This is the second Moldavite weight-stone pendulum design I've created this year.

Measurements - Overall default length of pendulum is 6 3/4". The chain length (including the lobster claw clasp) is 4 1/2". Weight-stone measures 1 3/8" (including mounting). All measurements are approximate.

All metal parts (chain, clasp, fob, mountings, and connectors) are sterling silver. All stones are genuine. Please note: As these are natural stones, depth of color, size, and patterns in each stone may vary slightly.
  • How to wear this pendulum: This pendulum's chain has a clasp that allows you to detach the weight-stone so you can wear it as a pendant - simply by slipping it onto your own neck chain or satin cord. Or you can wear the whole pendulum by using a pendulum-to-pendant adapter, or simply by threading a neck chain or cord through one of the links in the pendulum's chain and letting both ends dangle. (Adapter and neck chain sold separately - see related items below.)

Sterling Silver - This pendulum is made with sterling silver and contains no base metal parts. Sterling silver is a beautiful and durable alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metal, usually copper. Pendulums made with sterling silver are more sensitive to subtle energy vibrations than those that are constructed with base metals (alloys that use nickle, zinc, lead, and/or tin).

Caring for your sterling silver - If worn or used much, sterling will eventually oxidize and develop a lovely patina - a nice warm glow accentuated by darkened (tarnished) areas. You can either leave it this way, or if you prefer a bright and shiny surface, gently polish with a treated cloth to remove the oxidation. Never use abrasive cleansers or expose to salts. Store in a cool dry place.
