This CD begins with the midrange of the red cedar flute, a soft grain wood, generating mellow warmth. the movement into the lower tones of the walnut flute, a wood of exceptional tonal quality. The music continues into deeper resonances from flutes of yellow cedar, spruce and ancient redwood, accompanied by flowing water. This earthy and tender music travels upward again, to the surface of present time. This music is created to help ground the listener in the sense of well-being. |
